Monaco's Star studded 2013 Rose Ball, decor by designer by Karl Lagerfeld, took place last weekend. Entertainment featured Rita Ora, in a fanciful belle epoch inspired costume designed by Karl. Always elegant, Princess Charlene of Monaco wore a hip white leather Ralph Lauren Davidson Jacket jacket over her white Ralph Lauren evening dress.
This look is easy to copy and so I checked out eBay for a cute white leather jacket to recreate this look, and found this Celine soft white lambskin jacket that was originally very expensive now at a bargain price:

Cate Blanchett wears Chanel in location scenes (shot in Sept 2012) from Woody Allen's much anticipated movie 'Blue Jasmine' for release in 2013. Cate Blanchett's character Jasmine is a wealthy lady from NY who moves to San Francisco when she falls on hard times. She is wearing a Chanel Couture jacket similar to one seen on the runway in the Chanel Couture show of spring 2008. Cate's version of this Chanel jacket has similar edging but the silver buttons are a different style to the jacket seen on the runway. Couture jackets are made to measure for the client so this jacket was probably made especially the movie. Inside the jacket is a navy silk blouse. Accessories are a Chanel faux pearl necklace from the Fall 2005 season and a more recent Chanel Perfect Edge Quilted Flap bag.

Seen on eBay today is this Black version of the much wanted Chanel tote bag carried by the character Inez in the movie "Midnight in Paris" - her bag was the taupe color version. These bags were sold out in the Chanel stores so online auctions, consignment stores and re-sellers are where they turn up occasionally. With the Black version you get the same effortless chic style but in a practical color that should wear better in the long run.

The Scottish themed Chanel Metiers d'Art, fashion show on Dec 5th 2012 "Chanel Paris-Edimbourg 2012-13" paid homage to Chanel's English/ Scottish period when she fished and hunted in scotland with the Duke of Westminster and the likes of Winston Churchill and their entourage in the remote Scottish estate - incidentally the Dukes Scottish hunting lodge, Rosehall, was decorated by Chanel herself in tones of beige and browns. During this era Chanel discovered the tweeds and as she had done previously, borrowed from her mans wardrobe to evolve a look that is integral to her style. Karl does a superlative interpretation.
Tartans, fair isle and argyle patterns featured strongly with touches of lace reminiscent of the Mary Queen of Scots era.
